Dr. Trottier

Dr. Trottier is a surgeon at the Hôpital Montfort. He joined Dr. Bercier’s Vasectomy clinic in Ottawa in 2023 and trained with him to now perform the no-scalpel, no-needle vasectomies.

Dr. Trottier obtained his bachelor’s degree in biology, and then moved to Ottawa to obtain his degree in Medicine at the University of Ottawa. He went on to complete his General Surgery specialty training in Ottawa. This was followed by a Fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is a member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a member of the Ontario Medical Association.

He began practicing surgery at Montfort in 2009 where he continues to work full time as a surgeon. He is also an Assistant Professor with the University of Ottawa. He has taught several generations of medical students and surgical residents. He is the Director of Research for the Association of Surgery at his institution. He has held the position of Chief of Surgery, Director of Medical Students and presently sits on hospital committees aimed at improving patient care and the patient experience.

While his focus continues to be his general surgery practice, he now also performs vasectomies at Dr. Bercier’s clinic in Ottawa.
