When considering a vasectomy, one of the most common questions is how big the wound is and how many stitches are required. This blog post will provide information on what to expect when getting a vasectomy. The size of the incision and the number of sutures needed will depend on the type of vasectomy performed. A traditional vasectomy involves making two incisions, each about 1cm long, on either side of the scrotum. The vas deferens are then accessed through these incisions and cut or sealed. In a no-scalpel vasectomy, a single small incision is made in the scrotum and the vas deferens are accessed through this opening.<\/p>\n

The number of sutures needed also depends on the type of procedure performed. In a traditional vasectomy, approximately 5-6 sutures are needed to close each incision. In a no-scalpel vasectomy, NO sutures are required to close the small opening in the scrotum.<\/p>\n

Will I have a scar after I have a vasectomy?<\/h2>\n

After a traditional vasectomy, you will have a small scar on each side of your scrotum. The scars are usually barely noticeable and will fade over time. You should not feel any pain or discomfort from the scars once they have healed.<\/p>\n
