DRE. MÉLANIE SAVARD-CÔTÉ
Dr. Mélanie Savard-Côté, Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, has been practicing vasectomy since 2016. She graduated from McGill University in Physiotherapy, in Medicine at the University of Montreal and received specialized training in vasectomy at Laval University with Dr. Michel Labreque.
Her beginnings, in obstetrics and in the delivery room at the Saint-Eustache Hospital, naturally led her to care for young families. Contraception has always been an important part of her practice. Her gentle and empathetic approach naturally integrates prevention. During pediatric surgery internships in Germany, her skill for delicate techniques was immediately noticed. Before joining Dr. Bercier’s team, Dr. Savard-Côté was responsible for clinical teaching for 8 years, with family medicine residents at GMF-U Saint-Eustache. Her interest in dermatology and minor surgeries made her a resource person in the family medicine groups where she practiced, notably at GMF Montée de la Baie and at ExcelleMD.
Dr. Savard-Côté is passionate about vasectomy and founded the Vasectomy 450 clinic in 2019 in the St-Eustache region. She has more than 1000 vasectomies to her credit. She is part of the “World Vasectomy Network”, an international community of vasectomists who share their knowledge and participate in missions to foreign countries.
Her involvement advocates for better access to vasectomy here and elsewhere and in particular by training new vasectomists in Bolivia in 2023 with the World Vasectomy Day organization.
Dear Patients,
Due to the Canada Post strike, you will not be able to mail your post-vasectomy test until the situation is resolved. That being said, Dynacare, the lab that processes these semen analyses, has offered their assistance to address the issue.
You can drop off your sample in the envelope—just as you would if mailing it—at any of their locations with the label Attention: Problem Solvers. Dynacare has multiple locations in Ontario and Quebec. You can find their locations on their website: https://www.dynacare.ca/find-a-location.aspx.
Your sample will then be sent to the main lab for analysis.
Thank you for your understanding.
